The songs on When We Drown come from 8 years of Februarys, written during the February Album Writing Month challenge. In those 8 years, I’ve had the honor and pleasure of working with dozens of amazing collaborators, trading sounds and words and images and emotion through scores of songs. Each of those collaborators has left me with new perspectives that bleed into my own work.

When it came to putting together this release, I wanted to focus on how that collaboration has influenced my writing. This is the first time that I’ve released something where I’ve written everything “alone.” “Alone” needs quotes… the influences of all of those collaborators shine through loud and clear, and none of these songs would exist without the things I’ve learned from them in the 12 years I’ve been writing in the FAWM community. Future releases will showcase those collaborators again.

So, enjoy this selection of rock, pop, punk, and whatever else you want to call this sonic landscape. In every sense, these songs capture my musical identity today. Creating these songs over the last 8 years and refining them over the summer of pandemic lockdown has been the highlight of my musical journey, and I’m ecstatic to share that journey with you.

And to share it for however much you want to pay. On platforms that allow me to give you this music for free, it is yours for free. Otherwise, I’m selling it cheap. I made this music because I wanted to hear it myself, and to share it with my friends.

And for the handful of you still reading who might be interested in the lyrics from the album, they can be found here.
