Electronica

Here you’ll find some of Das Binky’s favorite electronic tunes. Some of these are written by the Das Binky Recording Collective, others are just performed.

I’m calling this stuff electronica because most or all of the sounds involved come from electronic instruments. At their core, they’re all pop tunes. The line between genres is sometimes razor thin; you’ll find things here you might put in Pop, or the Everything else category.

All sound files are demos, except for album tracks, which generally provide samples.

Awakening Bethlehem.
Lyrics by Das Binky, Music and Performance by Das Binky and Kristian Børresen.
Available on the album Divide the Storm

Lyrics

I see the hole in your dream
I see the great beyond ripping at its seamPRE CHORUS
There is no silence
There is no fear
Only what you bring to the table
And that which you revereCHORUS
I will rain down fire upon you
Cleanse before I choose to condemn
Open all eyes to love and despair
Witness the prelude to Awakening BethlehemI’ll debate whether sin is a virtue
I’ll understand the beauty you pretend to hide inside

PRE CHORUS
There is no comprehension
There is no sacrifice
There is no sign pointing a way to paradise

CHORUS
I will rain down fire upon you
Cleanse before I choose to condemn
Open all eyes to love and despair
Witness the prelude to Awakening Bethlehem

Lyrics

A look, A smile, A laugh for me
Is it real or make believe
Deep blue eyes, a kiss, embrace
Is it love or just good faceScenes flip inside my mind
like pages in a magazine
A piece of glass between you and me…I hold in my hand a set of eyes on the world
All the better to see you with, my dear
Still frames of memory frozen
See the trust in these eyes, you’ve nothing to fearClose is good, Closer is best
Golden Light that shines my guest
Selling yourself, I am buying
Your mystery I’m untying

Pages flip inside my mind
like pages in a magazine
A peice of glass between you and me…

I hold in my hand a set of eyes on the world
All the better to see you with, my dear
Still frames of memory frozen
See the trust in these eyes, you’ve nothing to fear

Observe, direct from across the room
Distance spanned by telephoto zoom
Fixed focal length is a dance alone
It’s only thru you that I am known

I hold in my hand a set of eyes on the world
All the better to see you with, my dear
Still frames of memory frozen
See the trust in these eyes, you’ve nothing to fear

I hold in my hand a set of eyes on the world
All the better to see you with, my dear
Still frames of memory frozen
See the trust in these eyes, you’ve nothing to fear

Play Oktober on the Beach
Lyrics

Westerly winds
I didn’t need a coat the last time I was here
Whitecaps
It feels too early for the leaves to fall
Why didn’t I come here more
over the summer
when I was a kid
When I’m alone
When I’m notThis is what I miss
no custard on the boardwalk today
The sand is empty
I could walk out into the waves
just walk and walk
to Europe
To China
To Anywhere
But it wouldn’t be better
only different
but sometimes
different what you needit’s autumn that bring this on
it takes dying to show us what we need
dying on the beach

Play The Forgiver
Lyrics

Should I feel guilt
for the life you never had?
The time I stole from you
I wear your failures
like scars upon my back
Reflecting the life you never knewMy life came at a cost and that cost was youYou weren’t good enough, but I could never tell you why
Some truths aren’t meant to be delivered
I know the answer, but it’s locked where I can’t find it
I’m not looking for you to be the forgiverI said I loved you
but I think I might have lied
But who was I lying to?
I can’t answer
how you did me wrong
Since I never did you right

My life came at at a cost and that cost was you

You weren’t good enough, but I could never tell you why
Some truths aren’t meant to be delivered
I know the answer, but it’s locked where I can’t find it
I’m not looking for you to be the forgiver

I see the house we never bought
I see the children we never had
Someone else took your place in the script
While you watched and waited

My life came at at a cost and that cost was you

You weren’t good enough, but I could never tell you why
Some truths aren’t meant to be delivered
I know the answer, but it’s locked where I can’t find it
I’m not looking for you to be the forgiver
